Association for Learning Technology
ALT (Association for Learning Technology) is a professional and scholarly association which seeks to bring together all those with an interest in the use of learning technology. SunGard Higher Education is a corporate member of ALT.
CAO
The Central Applications Office is an organisation which was founded in 1976 by the higher education institutions (HEIs) in the Republic of Ireland. The HEIs have delegated to CAO the task of processing centrally applications for admission to their first year undergraduate courses. The purpose of the CAO is to process applications centrally and to deal with them in an efficient and fair manner. The HEIs retain the function of making decisions on admissions.

EDUCAUSE is a nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education by promoting the intelligent use of information technology.
EUNIS
The European University Information System was formed in France with an objective to encourage exchanges, cooperation and debates between the persons responsible for information systems in higher education or research institutes/organizations within Europe, The group of members meets once a year to discuss with the major suppliers of information systems and to present them with the University point of view and to establish relationships with supervisory organizations in charge of information systems in higher education and in research institutes in each country as well as at the European level.
HESA
HESA was setup in 1993 following a Government White Paper ‘Higher Education: A New Framework’, which called for more coherence in higher education statistics. HESA is the central source for higher education statistics.
SunGard Higher Education produces and maintains the ability to deliver the Student based returns from the Banner Student Information System, including the Destination of Leavers, the Student/Module and Combined returns and the Non Credit Baring report. Currently underway is the new HESA re-development for the XML Schema based Student return.
HEBSS
The Higher Education Bursaries & Scholarships Scheme is being managed by the Student Loans Company (SLC). At present, only Higher Education Institutions and Further Education Colleges based in England and Northern Ireland are affected, if they have Access Agreements. However, the Education Departments in Scotland and Wales are examining the implications for higher education in their own areas. IUISC
The Irish Universities Information Services Colloquium is an annual event which brings together senior staff from Libraries, ICT Systems and Services, Learning Technology and Audio Visual Services working in Higher Education in Ireland. It provides a forum to learn about developments in the marketplace, about the changing external environment and about changes and developments in the member institutions and elsewhere in Higher Education. The conference is usually held in mid to late March each year, with attendance having grown to nearly 200 delegates. It has regularly been addressed by influential speakers from Ireland, Britain, Europe and the USA. IUISC aims to bring together staff from a broad range of seniority and experience, unlike other major conferences of its type which are aimed mainly at senior staff.
NACUBO
The National Association of College and University Business Officers is a membership organization representing more than 2,500 colleges, universities, and higher education service providers across the country and around the world. NACUBO specifically represents chief business and financial officers through advocacy efforts, community service, and professional development activities.
NAFSA
NAFSA: Association of International Educators serves international educators and their institutions and organizations by establishing principles of good practice, providing training and professional development opportunities, providing networking opportunities, and advocating for international education.
Rome Student Systems and Standards Group
RS3G (Rome Student Systems and Standards Group) is an established group of software implementers and stakeholders in the European Higher Education domain which is focused on contributing to the definition and adoption of standards and procedures for the exchange of data to facilitate student mobility and lifelong learning.
Student Loans Company
The Student Loans Company (SLC) administers student financial support to eligible students in higher education in the United Kingdom. It is wholly owned by the UK Government and operates within the policy context set by the Government, Scottish ministers and the legislative framework.
SunGard Higher Education provides fully functional interfaces with the SLC’s BACS FIRST scheme for Student Support Attendance Request and Confirmation (SSAR and SSAC), Attendance Fee (ACR and ATEX) and Remittance Files, Tuition Fee Position Report (TFPR) and also the Higher Education Bursaries & Scholarships Scheme (HEBSS) detailed below.
SROC
SROC (Student Record Officers Conference) is not a representative body, it does not have a fixed constituency, and it does not have a membership determined by subscription. Anyone who has an active interest in student records may attend the conference, seminars and workshops. The annual conference provides an increasingly well-respected focus for the consideration of student-related matters. SROC is utilised by HESA as a means of disseminating information and receiving feedback.

UCAS
UCAS (Universities & Colleges Admissions Service) is the UK central organisation through which applications are processed for entry to full-time first degrees, HNDs and university diplomas. The mission of UCAS is to promote a partnership between prospective students and universities and colleges.
SunGard Higher Education provides fully functional interfaces to the UCAS systems and maintains and enhances them regularly throughout the cycle in accordance with requirements from UCAS.
UCISA
UCISA represents almost all the major UK universities and higher education colleges and has a growing membership among further education colleges, other educational institutions and commercial organisations interested in information systems and technology in UK education, providing a network of contacts and a powerful lobbying voice. SunGard Higher Education is a member of UCISA, and supports the Annual CISG conference.
Universities UK (UUK)
Universities UK is the major representative body and membership organisation for the higher education sector. Our members are the executive heads of UK universities. Together with Higher Education Wales and Universities Scotland, we work to advance the interests of universities and to spread good practice throughout the higher education sector.
Universities UK publishes an annual summary of its work during the previous academic year, each one covering the period 1 August to 31 July. The Universities UK Annual Review is now published in January to include annual financial statements for the same period.
